If I wasn't worried before, I most definitely am now...There is a telephone in my bathroom!!! Imagine you are sitting on the throne peacefully contemplating the job in hand and suddenly it rings behind you...I think the shock would probably make you crap yourself, but then again, you would be in the right place in the event of that happening wouldn't you! Its amazing how homely a hotel room can actually feel, once all of your belongings have evacuated the suitcase and scattered themselves about like the aftermath of an exploding firework...before housekeeping arrive and tidy it all up!! I just can't find fault with the hotel...and believe me, I have tried but everything is simply outstanding (and yes...my case did turn up) so a big 'Thumbs Up' to the Metropark Kowloon as far as I am concerned!
Its my first real taste of the experience today though it feels like I have been here forever...its actually just day three. The travelling has really put my bodyclock 'out of whack'and not even a combination of huge continental breakfasts and coffee have woken me up. Oh well, I am sure I will adjust...eventually!
Hmmm, first impressions of Hong Kong...very cosmopolitan, very colourful, a shoppers paradise, busy most definatley both on the pavements and roads where traffic whizzes about in organised chaos, the air is warm and has an industrial aroma to it...slightly tainted with Hun Fang Wok cuisine and the majority of the male population look like Jackie Chan!!
I did the 'Sightseeing thang' today, Stanley Market, Repulse Bay, Victoria Peak and the Aberdeen Floating village being the tour highlights...though I was a little disappointed about the obvious lack of kilts, haggis and bagpipers which is now conjuring up all kinds of images in my mind!!! We went out on a dinky little Sampan around the harbour which was kinda neat...viewing the Jumbo Floating Restaurant at close quarters and I was very adventurous on the food front tonight too...Singaporian Vermicelli which was absolutely gorgeous...mmmmmmm!!! Gotta end this one here folks coz a tartan clad Jackie Chan lookalikie is Caber Tossing...If Only....hehehe
