Well this was the first stop for us and what a ball we had. We got right into the swing of things and used the MTR subway every day to get about and then went on ferries to visit some local islands, Cheung Cheau and Lantau. First day we went to Vitoria Peak and see the view of Hong Kong which was amazing. We then went to see the light show at night which is all the buildings lighting up at night - beautiful. We then went out to Lan Kwai Fong at night which is quite a bustling wee area full of bars and restuarants.
We did seem to struggle with the food in Hong Kong after a horrible experience with chicken that tasted like greasy, crunchy stones!!
On the second day we went to Cheung Cheau which is a little fishing island, we hired bikes here which was fab and had a beer at the pier watching all the locals fish.
Back to Lan Kwai FOng for another drinking sesh, a very drunken one at that.
Next day went to Lantau which was very different to Hong Kong, it was like how you would imagine China to
be, very beautiful with lots of greenery and mountains. We went to visit the big bronzed buddha which was incredible. Frankie had a severely bad stomach up there which made the experience even funnier.
When we arrived home we decided to head out to the famous Lan Kwai Fong again but only for a few tonight as we were leaving in the morning for Thailand.
Hong Kong was a fabulous place to visit although we don't know if we would go back again.
View from Victoria PeakThis is the view of Hong Kong from the top of Victoria Peak. It was so peaceful up at the top.
Hoing Kong Island at nightThis was taken whilst we were watching the light show which takes place every night at 8pm from the Harbour.
Cheung CheuThis is a little fishing village which is next to Hong Kong, it took about 45mins on a ferry to get there. It was so small and cute and very hot!
The Height picturethis was after a large amount of alcohol we asked a wee local to get her picture taken to show the height difference - very funny
Bronzed BuddhaLook at all the stairs we had to climb - 246 to be precise.
Statuesthese were up the top of the big buddha and Lynn fell in Love with them so wanted a picture.
