We have experienced our first trip to the SOS clinic and hospital with Matthew. I had the dreaded phone call from Matthew's school on Friday afternoon to say he has had a little accident at school. He fell off the monkey bars in the playground and he can't move his arm, hand or fingers and his wrist is very swollen, they think he needs to go to hospital to see a doctor and get an Xray. I felt like challenge Anneka!!! Get passports, enough money, find a taxi......there is always a taxi outside of our apartments but today he was nowhere to be seen so I had to walk all the way to the main road and flag one down!! We have had a nice calming week!! Matthew was off school last Friday so he had a lovely long weekend. I took the boys to a new shopping mall, it is Matthew's birthday on the 16th march and he wanted to find a new toy shop to spend his birthday money from Nanny dragon and Grandad. We found one small little shop but something really great we found was a little stall that sold pick and mix sweets (not what we went out for!!) and we found jelly sweets that the boys like from back home, we found jelly bears, snakes and cola bottles!!! We seem to find something new each week!! This weekend we found a man on the roadside holding a turtle hanging on a stick!!! It was very alive. Matthew may have found a new hobby, he had a go at pottery yesterday. I think more clay ended up on him and splattered around but he had great fun making a pot! Sadly by the time he finished there wasn't much left though once he finished! Matthew has settled into school life really well, we have turned a corner I think at last. He will have a fun time at school this week learning all about the Cat In The Hat. We have finished his hat and tail for the cat walk this Thursday. I will have my camera ready!... read more

I attended Matthew's first school assembly today! It was a lovely afternoon, Matthew didn't have to do much as he has only been at the school almost 3 weeks but he joined in with all the singing. Each month the school puts on an assembly to show what the children have made and learnt over the past month. It's nice for the parents to see as most children say they did "nothing today" or "it was boring" But they have made some lovely things, masks, lantern pictures, dragons and the older children played music that they have been practising. Matthew has settled into school really nicely. He has made a couple of friends. He is still not keen on having to do 15 words for spelling practise but he has done fantastic in maths. We found a few interesting things in Tesco at the weekend!! In the fish and meat section we found very large frogs and turtles! Not something we are used to seeing every day and I have to say they did not look very tasty!!! But on the plus side, I found a great in port shop with lots of yummy treats. The price they cost, they will be a special treat!! We went out for a lovely dinner on Friday night, nice not having to cook. It was a western food restaurant and they had some yummy food on offer! We met up with a couple of Andy's work friends and their partners. the boys enjoyed this place because the owner has built a huge train set in the middle of the downstairs floor. I think ... read more
