WOW! The Great Wall IS really great! We walked for about an jour and fifteen minutes on it today alond with several thousand other people. It was beautiful looking at the mountains, valleys, and the Wall as it wove through them. We also went to the Ming Tombs. It's neat to see things that are hundreds of years old still standing. We saw the Peking Opera tonight also. Gary wondered how the cats tail ended up under the rocker! It was very different. Tonight we have packed for our next town, Xian. In the morning we will take a rickshaw ride into Beijings Hutongs, the city's oldest alleys. We will have tea with a local family. We heard there was an earthquake in China, but it didn't affect us. Time to turn in. Night All!

Mediocre wall just wouldn't do it...
Philosophical question for you, was the Great Wall a "Mediocre Wall" before it was "Great"? Was is "Fair" before it was Mediocre? Was it just a stack of stones before it was Fair?
