May 30, 2012 (Dujiangyan) The goal of the trip to Dujiangyan was to visit a private eye hospital run by a husband (administrator) and wife (ophthalmic surgeon) team that focuse a lot of time and effort on blindness prevention program cataracts (surgery for rural poor). It was a very pleasant and spacious facility, including inpatient rooms for both private and charity patients. It was organized, planned, built and now administered by the high energy engaging and boisterous husband. Well connected politically and involved in various businesses, he built a hospital so his wife could do what she wanted to do in a first class environment. It seemed to operate very efficiently, had a wonderful and personable staff and the physical facility was top notch. Dr. Farris was enamoured by the various sunglasses available. Dr. Skuta was cooler than ice in his Pradas! :)
