Shanghai, c’est complet! On avait dit ça de Barcelone, et on dirait que c’est encore plus vrai pour Shanghai! Il y a de tout, ici. Des gros buildings modernes, des vieilles ruelles cutes, des grandes rues commerçantes et flashy, des maisons traditionnelles, des beaux jardins, des beaux parcs, la rivière, des villas de riches, des bons restaurants, de l’animation, des spectacle d’envergure, du transport efficace, un climat parfait pour voyager, pis ben du monde!! Quand on se demande coudon, on est tu encore en Chine, faut juste regarder le monde! Genre dans le métro à l’heure de pointe, hier soir, des foules et des foules de monde (tous les yeux fixés sur leur écran de cellulaire!!!). So I decided to take a week out for the mid-autumn festival to visit the city of shanghai, I flew there from Yantai which luckily only took an hour and a half and I was glad of that seeing as there was turbulence for the entire time. As a nervous flyer that wasn't fun. Found my hostel nice and easy this time yay! Lovely little place right in the center of shanghai however the beds let it down there is definitely a theme over here with bad mattresses this one had springs digging in your hips. I treated myself to full English most days of my holiday just because I could although it was of course the Chinese version of our beloved meal but it was good enough. Today has mainly been a travel day flying from Xi'an to Shanghai. Arrived here at 2.00pm (no delays this time) and made our way into the city (1 hour). As we got closer to the city centre the Shanghai architecture took over the skyline. The city is widely recognised for it's artistic design in terms modern buildings and there are heaps of them. In fact there are over 3000 buildings more than 30 stories high, many of them are strikingly bold and different. As the sun goes down there is a dazzle of elaborate neon art starts up, ever changing and sometimes covering whole sides of buildings. Almost like a permanent fireworks display, very spectacular. Mein Grossvater erzählte mir von einem Sommercamp hier in Shanghai, allerdings müsste ich mich am gleichen Tag noch entscheiden, da sonst die Anmeldefrist schon abgelaufen wäre. Nach dem Durchlesen der Beschreibung war ich allerdings doch etwas skeptisch, vor allem was die Altersgruppe anging: 12-18 Jahre. Ich würde mit meinen 18 Jahren zwar noch teilnehmen können, aber wie alt werden denn dann die anderen Teilnehmer sein, wenn das schon die Höchstgrenze ist? Es sind ja schließlich 2 ganze Wochen. Ich habe mich dann doch noch angemeldet und nach einer Woche ging es dann auch schon los. Unsere Unterkunft war zufälligerweise mein altes Wohnheim in der Uni, also kannte ich da schon alles. Oggi è tappa di attacco alla grande cima. L’obiettivo è quello di arrivare ai piedi, per poi giungere in vetta domani all’alba. Ammetto di essere abbastanza preoccupato. Non ho sintomi del male dell’alta montagna, ma a 4.000 metri l’ossigeno manca e ogni passo costa molta fatica. Con uno zaino di 12 kili poi è tutto molto più difficile. Comunque si va. In effetti la tappa inizia simile a quella di ieri: si sale, ma non vertiginosamente. Il paesaggio è quello di alta montagna: verdissimo, pendii a precipizio, fiori di alta montagna, rododendri, manco un albero. Superato un “colle” ci fermiamo a rifiatare. Poi Rabi insiste per prendere il mio zaino. Il mio orgoglio non vorrebbe, ma effettivamente sono esausto e un po’ di riposo ci stà.
