hello everybody!
having too much fun to actually sit down at a computer to blog about the events that are happening recently. days are packed with activities, nights are full of fun. so i'm 21 right now, and shanghai had the honour to grace that all-important occasion.
so shanghai is what you expect it to be. skyscrapers, busy traffic, nice skyline at night, and all the cliches about a bustling city. everybody says that shanghai is awesome, but it disappoints me abit. maybe because i come from a huge cities, and all these bright lights impress me not. the biggest attraction in shanghai has to be the bund. i like the bund, especially at night when you can admire the dazzling skyline. in the day its nothing to shout about because of the hazy air (anybody knows if its mist or pollutants?)
beijing was quite a cultural commotion.. and we were looking forward to meet all our friends in shanghai (for my birthday). its quite amazing to be away from home.. yet have ppl celebrating your bday with you. i actually wanted to have a very quiet birthday, you know under the stars with some wine and
thats it. but the danish girls won't allow it and they promised a 'danish' birthday.
so i woke up on the 2nd may. went to take my mandatory shower.. and when i got out of the bath, all my clothes were missing. i thought to myself " i couldnt have been too drunk to throw all my clothes out last night... " i looked around and realised that my bag was gone too. i was clad in my boxers and slippers. from the corner of my eye i realised there was a note placed on a bed saying ' meet you at the bund asap. cya ' below the note was ugly fisherman pants and a touristy panda shirt that i regretted buying in chengdu. nice... now i have to trek 10 minutes through shanghainese ppl to meet them at the bund.
i wish i could explain to everybody that it was my birthday but i just smiled back at them whenever they gave me a weird stare. arrived at the bund. everybody was there. joel, tc, kamille, kristina, maya, angie, steffi and her friend. they were laughing their head off.. but they had some presents and a
weirdothe tie was a present from the danish girls. i know!
cake for me as well. ahh, not that bad after all. it was very sweet actually.. haha. adjourned to a near sushi bar and had my birthday cake there.. it was a nice 21st birthday at the bund.
here're some pictures of shanghai.. and my birthday. cheers
the caketc and joel bought me the cake. sweeet
typicala very typical night in shanghai.
