It said this is the last piece of heaven left over in greater Shanghai - Chongming Island, across the Yangzhe River! Few years back before the bridge was ready, it took 3 hours to get on a ferry where 2 hours are on 'q' for boarding; it takes less than 30 minutes now by car - and it is a pleasant drive over the 'sea'. Some great outdoor activities available here, particularly, bike riding is the best and bird watching, white stork is one of them!
