back to school!

..and we're back to school!
we started teaching again on wed, so it's only been 2 days so far but its actually going surprisingly well, haha.
I think that a big part of it is that i'm actually expecting the kids to be crazy now, and i'm pretty used to just going with the flow which is good. While the kids are definitely still off the walls, I've been trying to get them to discuss what they did over the New Year which most of them are pretty excited to tell about. I was little worried about how they'd even be able to discuss it since none of my kids have learned past tense at all, but I gave them basically like a fill-in the blank type thing on the board with "On the the New Year I__" and then together we came up with "go to__, eat __, see__, and play__". From there most of them are able to write a bit and draw a picture and then I'm able to actually talk to some of them one-on-one which is nice cause its pretty impossible to do that usually. I was also not so sure how it would go if I asked them to share what they wrote with the class, but on my way to class I thought of game to trick them into doing it, lol. I just play music and have them pass around a marker (since a ball would be to tempting to throw, lol), until the music stops and then whoever has the marker has to tell answer one of the questions about where they went or what they did for new year's. Surprisingly they've been getting really into it, lol, and they've actually been sharing with the class which is cool since usually they're all so shy when it comes to that.

not much else to tell...it's all been pretty routine even down to the fact that on my first day back my schedule was changed 4 times, and then yesterday i sat around for an hour not sure if my last class was canceled, and then got a phone call saying "come right away, your late!" haha.. i've finally learned though that "your late" here just means that your are late, and not necessarily that they're blaming you or that its your fault at all, haaa.
