Today we went for a boat ride down the Grand Canals of Suzhou. But the highlight for me was a visit to the silk embroidery factory. I think most of the members of the tour were totally blow away by the artistry we saw. There were ladies working for years on single embroidery. The detail was so fine it looked like it was painted on silk. We recommend you add it to you tour. It was too bad I couldn’t afford the pieces I wanted. Next on the tour was a visit to the Lingering Garden and the ancient Panmen Gate, the only existing water and land gate. After dinner we went for a night tour of the Master of Fishing Nets Garden. As we toured we were treated to traditional performances in different sections of the garden.
