Getting the History geeking out done well.
A weekend of sightseeing was just the remedy for post-training blues. We ventured out to Fuzimiao and XuanWu Lake as well as eating a fair amount of tasty morsels along the way. Here are some photos of our joyous expeditions! Fuzimiao was exactly what we expected - a lovely, scenic, beautiful Chinese spot ruined by tacky tourism and shops. They were selling small animals as well, namely bunnies, kittens and puppies, which I can safely say got my pitying baby voice out. I almost, almost, persuaded Iain to let me buy a kitten but realised my crazy cat lady had got too carried away... But we managed to stay until evening despite all the stares, glares and wares, and the nighttime lights really were good. Today on day two of our tourist adventure we visited our neighbouring lake, and it was ROASTING. But even with the heat the lake is really chilled out and lovely, and we sat and listened to a brass band play Boyzone's classics - brilliant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. There were some hilarious examples of Chinglish too so I'll make sure to keep my photo of the days going...
Tomorrow sadly is not adventure day
