Shenzhen - What a Difference

Hi All,

A short metro ride up to the border and then back into China. What a difference a border makes. No more perfect English on the metro announcements but some garbled attempt at American English and a mad rush to pile onto the train as soon as the doors open instead of letting the passengers off first. I even had to ask one guy to give up his seat for a pregnant woman! On the plus side Chinglish has made a welcomed return with a huge sign in the middle of Shenzhen's shopping district and you've gotta love Snake Street!! But the best thing is the return of cheap food. A plate of fried noodles for 60p, now that's better than the HK$50 for street food in Hong Kong.

My hostel was quite a way out of the city centre so i didn't see that much of the city to be honest.
