Fairy Lake
A walkway around a pond/lake
Over the past 10 days I have tried to find some parts around Yongchuan that are not filled with cars, condo construction and packed with people. The energy and chaos of even a small Chinese city like Yonchuan is great but a country boy needs to get out of the city too. I have found 2 places so far that are good places to relax and get away from the car horns and the trash.
Side bar: Chinese traffic rules...basically, there aren't any. People just drive any speed on either side of the road, stopping at red lights at an intersection is considered optional and all you do is just honk your horn to indidate, "I'm coming through" and might makes right. Also, the concept of garbage and garbage cans as symbiotic is not a concept here. if you have trash you throw it on the ground wherever you are on the sidewalk, in a restaurant wherever! And there are hundreds of people who are sweeping by hand everywhere....in the middle of traffic on the road....limitless labour at almost no cost I guess.
So, these photos are of a two recently built parks around the area.
