So...a couple of weeks ago I carried on the tradition of taking the staff of the BC program out for Chongqing Hot Pot dinner as a celebration to start the year. Well, we had 29 people there and ate and drank for about 5 hours. We had 3 tables of 9 or 10 people. Basically, Chongqing Hot Pot is like a big fondue pot only (like most local dishes) it is stupidly spicy! The chilis, pepper and oil all boil up and you put meat and veggies in to cook and then eat away and feel your mouth catch fire! We had a great time bonding. And here is the best part....more food than 29 or 30 of us could eat and I think if I remember right 66 - 500ml beers. As principal I paid the bill....and it was only 1700 RMB...like $275...crazy!
