Well yesterday was fun, went to the summer palace whjere the chinese emperors families used to go to get away from the heat.
The place is massive and everythign is built around a huge lake, due to the cold the whole lake was frozen solid. The chinese decided this meant it was a goood idea to walk on it which we all found rather dangerous but to be fair we didnt we anyone die all day even tought the ice was contastly making cracking sounds.
Its a hard place to describe so look at the photos.
It also took us half an hour to get a taxi as the drivers wouldnt take us as the fair wouldnt be worth it but i think it was mainly because the didnt like us :)
When we got back it was time for us to go for traditional peking duck.
on the way we went past a food market where you could get cooked starfish, testacles, crabs, seashorses all on sticks.
The meal like all the other ones we had were cheap and gorgeous. The peking duck itslef was the same as back home so not a lot
of point inb travelling over here for it. what was nice was having the skin of the duck with sugar MMMMMMMMMMMM wierd but tasty.
Afterwards we went to a bar called 12SQ, which is Beijings smallest bar at only 12 square meters.
Its nuts as 13 of us packed it out completly and you had to get other people near the bar to order for you.
Interesting end to a wicked day and making me very much interested for more.
Oh and the hotel had a mat that each day has the day on it, which is handy with jetlag :)
