Some of the things random things that I've forgotten to mention:
The hostel has undergone massive changes since I arrived almost a month ago. The side room that was just a mess of rubble and construction equipment has become a full fledged coffee and alcohol bar, complete with tables, new couches, and a currently-being-set-up projector for movies and Olympic coverage. Apparently there're still some problems getting the TV cables hooked up, though, which is of great concern.
This weekend is going to be busy like whoa. Tomorrow, Thursday, I have to be out at the new apartment to meet the lady whose house and dog we'll be watching so we can go register with the PSB so I'm legal. This will be a challenge since it takes hella long to get out there via the middle-of-nowhere subway. Apparently, though, there's a bus that I can take from here to get out there. I think this afternoon I'll take a bus tour and see how long it takes to get out there from here, keeping in mind that it will be rush hour tomorrow morning. Oh, and that I'll need to be up at the asscrack of dawn to make the trip.
Then Friday I'm going to see Moya and her friends perform some kind of dance number as Jackson 5. They've ordered wigs and everything for the event. Not entirely sure what kind of gig it is, but I'm going to her apartment to watch them get ready and go with the crazy kids for Friday night fun. That is also my last night at the hostel.
Saturday I check out of here and move to the apartment on the far east side of the city.
Sunday I go to my old coworker Joy's apartment for her son's 1st birthday, which is where I will unload all of the children's books that I bought at the Ctown Library sale. Really, Joy and her husband, Bob, both speak English very well. They should be teaching Baobao English in addition to the Chinese. I hope these kids' books will help.
And then Monday I PICK UP ARIELLE AT THE AEROPUERTO!!!! EEEEK!
OMG right now they just put on a country CD! Like straight from 107.9 the Coyote at home. Hahaha this music makes me so happy! Teeeheehee!
