We've been very busy over the past couple of days...we have met up with the rest of our group who we stay with until we reach Hong Kong in 3 weeks time. On Monday we walked the great wall which was absolutely stunning, we walked about 13km in total but it was extremely hard work as it was very steep, with sheer drops both sides...not great for someone who doesn't like heights!!
We have also been to Tiananmen Square along with many many many other people. It was crowded, it was China National day on the 1st October where everyone gets 3 days off so everyone comes to Beijing and in particular Tiananmen Square. You cannot describe the crowds, there are so many people its like a football stadium (maybe not Stanford Bridge though!!) emptying after a big European night, but constantly!
We walked around the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace which were both amazing.
We've eaten in some great restaurants and eaten authentic Peking Duck...all great food and very cheap. We have found bottle's of local beer, larger than a pint, for 3 Yuan which is about 21p, Simon is very happy!!!
We have now exhausted
Beijing and tonight we move onto Shanghai by over night train so we will try and update again when we arrive with some more photos.
