Current Mood: Chilled right out.
Well ive spent the last few days really chilling out around the local streets of Beijing. locally to the hostel is pretty cool. Although on tuesday i explored a few of the sights around Tienamen Square backstreets and hootongs with Julia which was a good day but a tall order on the old legs. Gotta shout out to my buddy Sharpy back home. The school pumps have walked the wall and everywhere else for that matter which is amazing as they were only a fiver. Love ya brov. Hope you and Don are good son. ill mail you soon
The Hostel has been good and really accomidating. they cant help you enough and the staff are unbelievably educated. one of the staff members would be heard asking the guests where they are from and a short while later would return with a dictionary of knowledge all from his head on things to do with that part of the world. so im sitting eagerly waiting to tell him im from Birmingham when my moment came. Sure enough and with out walking away this time he splurged out information on brum and pre-war add ons. He's
a clever guy.
Caught up with Tim today aswell who is a guy we met earlier in the trip thats from the UK who i cheekily grabbed an afternoon beer with when i was introduced to the coolest two ive ever met. Sonya and Harris. Mother and son who are travelling the world but the slant is that Harris is under 10 years old. its great to see. i always said if i ever have kids they will be travelled and i tell you now that these two are doing it so well. they have been everywhere and now trauling through China which is fantastic. they did the whole south America bash too which is crazy but wicked. love em both for there efforts hahahahaha OI oiOIOIOIoioi oi OI to Harris. im gonna get some hair like yours.
Any way back to the Hootong Hustling....... its awesome. the back streets are full of food and smells.... some good and some bad. In all its busy and fun. There are bikes rip arsing everywhere and cars inbetween those. The People are funny down these remote areas as they stare at you pointing and the odd child shouts HELLO HOW
ARE YOU hahaha its amazing. there all really welcoming although the whole 'Hocking' (clearing and spitting of flem) is pretty gross. It happens and even the girls are doing it which aint lady like.
Well the plans for the evening are to grab dinner and move on out of the Jing towards Pingyao. the girls booked us onto a sleeper train so we are heading down later. stay tuned for some Pingyao news.
