The Brits are in Beijing!!!!
Finally after weeks of travelling we have made it to Beijing and it has not disappointed.
We climbed the five peaks in Huashan the chinese had been kind enough to cut stone steps into the mountains which you would think would make it easier but try climbing a staircase for three an a half hours and you will find it does not. It hurts and competetive couple insisted on doing all five peaks in the morning when most people do two or three in a day! Sweaty Pasty silent brits storming up a hill without the merest hint of pleasure on their faces is another sight the Chinese can tick off. Amaxing views at the peaks though.
Shanghai kind of came and went, nice dinner with Julie P but wasn't Beijing and we were knackered and touristed out, did see some Panda's and Mountain Gorilla's at the zoo which was very cool.
Then we arrived in Beijing and the whole place is buzzing!! landed went and picked our tickets up dumped our bags and were in the olympic park 2 hours after touchdown. Handball may not be big in GB but
a dislike of the french is and so we got right behind the Norweigans. quality agressive sport definate warm up game potential, up there with Kabaddi! ALso met two brit girls who put us on to a website to get tickets so Saturday morning were on the OC and got tickets for Beach volleyball GB Hockey and Birds nest tonight!! Beach Volleyball was all Beers boogying and Bikini's plus some dudes playing in the sand was a phenononal atmosphere Norrthern paul from SARFC also came up trumps with some Rowing tickets for today too so have just got to sing the National anthem and see gold!!! GOLD I TELL YOU!!!!
Thrid in the medal table the sun is shining and were off to the Birds nest for 40p Budweiser, Bloody Brilliant!!!!
