Ohhh you will never guess what I ordered and ate!! Pizza!! I had pizza delivered in Beijing! You can order really wierd toppings like corn and fish but also ham and mushroom mmmm.
Most people know I have always battled days when I hate everything about myself. I mean really just don't want to look in the mirror hard to make myself get out of the bed kind of days. I have learned for the most part how to manage these episodes. However, China has a major lack of chocolate chip ice cream and doughnuts. So yesterday, I dealt with it by cutting off my hair. I found the shortest haircut I could find and went. It was a very good experience. They guy was really nice very gay but nice. Soon the whole salon was around my chair looking at the picture and then looking at my hair. It took them an hour to cut my hair. I have never had so many people looking so closely at my hair and the picture. They gave me a head massage and everything. It was great. So from now on when I get depressed I am going to get my haircut. I hope I don't come back bald. I like the haircut too which is a plus. Honestly tell me do you like long hair or short hair? I have ten months to fix it.
In other news the Sino African conference is being held in Beijing this week. So what does this mean?You guessed it,a whole new schedules for teaching! All schools are required to close at three pm meaning that some of my classes got canceled others got moved.
I just finished eating dinner with my neighbors. They have adopted me. We went to a restaurant and then played hangman. It was so much fun. The mom I think is lonely. She doesn't work and although she can't speak any English she is always having me over and saying hi and really wants to be my friend. We are going to the park on Sunday. They are one of the few families with a car so I think that is great. I really think that Grant or Drake should come and visit so they can meet this girl. I think I have found one of them a great girlfriend.

I love the haircut it is so cute! I hope you aren't getting too depressed over there. But everyone goes through little spurts of depression when away from home and family. Y ou sound like you are having a good time which is great! I am sorry about all the moves in your schedule. What a great haircut! I'm not just saying that to make you feel good, it really looks good. Those massages are great, aren't they? Next time, ask them for a "full body massage" (quan2shen1 an4mo2). Some hair shops don't have that available. But find a massage shop and get one. Full hour, wonderful. Should be about 40, 50 kuai.

i love your haircut! it's sassy and cute. it is actually the first haircut i've seen in china that looks fabulous. they usually looks just a little odd here or there. but yours looks magazine beautiful. stick with this guy, he's good. glad you're getting to know your neighbors. sounds like you can bless this mom.

I really like the haircut--makes you look sophisticated! I went in to get my hair trimmed just before I came back to the states, cuz it's so cheap (abt $1.20) and that guy took over an hour. I had counted on 10 minutes, but every strand gets cut and then analyzed!
Now between cuts, there is good ice cream that's not made out of water. From those little stands, I usually chose the Nutty Buddy kinds, but Magnum makes really good IC bars. I think Wal-Mart even has a brand (abt a 1-liter hard plastic container) that does come in choc chip--gooood stuff, but costs abt 22 yuan (that's over $2.50).

hey kid! i like it. i mean i wouldnt get depresssed again for at least 10 months but the length you have it is good. it looks older...like adult!
the closeness of the picture is a little scary though - it makes your smile strained.
talked about you today wuth my co-workers. they about fell out of their chairs when i was like "yeah, my older sister graduated in may, but now she is in Chine." just as if it was really normal. they were like "WHAT! how can you be so nonchalant like its Charlotte!" They are both African American so it was way funnier in real life.
I just cleaned up Hodges head. its bloody cause something happened to her. it doesnt look good at all. talk to the ultimate bowler in the league in the clouds (i'm an english major what can i say) about her.
I made my 2nd A in history. THe first test was a 91 (A-) and the second one was a 94 (A). so i am stoked. just two more and i will have an A in Western Civ 102!!! i know you are falling out of your chair. i just hope someone is there to revive you!
well i am going to go meet Rachel B. at CHOPS (in camden). I came home but the whole family was gone and went to columbia for soccer stuff.

Remember that time you cried for a week when we cut your hair really short. Well you certainly wear it well now. I think you look wonderful. No need to dive into the Breyer's bucket!

Now you have two haircuts that are truely yours--the page boy and this adorable new cut. Most of us never find one to really love. Rebecca came to see me yesterday. Saw Alden at Ali's Wed. night. I enjoy riding over every Wed. night with Dan and Linda. Ford was so proud to win the soccar tournament. He's so tall! I hope you have heat. Love, Grandmama
