Hello from Beijing.
I thought this may be a good way to stay in touch and share with you all our photos and experiences. We have only been here for 3 days and we feel like we are a million miles away from you all. The girls were crushed to find that many websites here are prohibited including face book, you tube and just about all social networking sites. This is the only blog site we could get to work.
We had a great flight over and it was very happy reunion when we arrived in Beijing.
Generals garden is enormous and is heavily under construction. We will enjoy watching everything come alive.
We are of great interest to the many hundreds of staff that are around the place. Everyone stops and stares. A truckload of men ran of the road staring and then did a U turn to come back for another look. I get the feeling you don't see many foreigners in this part of town.
The nursing home is lovely and a real cultural shock to me. I am looking forward to spending some more time there when we settle in.
This is a short and sweet blog just to get started and to really see if it works. I have attached some photos. I'm still trying to work the camera out so as I practise I hope they improve.
I'll write more of what we have been up to later.
Nat x

Good morning from Australia
Good morning Nat and clan - lovely too see and hear you have arrived safely. I love the 驴, he could be your shopping assistant and carry your shopping! The girls and Michael look very happy (though cold???). Enjoy your 咖啡, perhaps the residents could bake items to sell at the Coffee Shop (a fundraisiing initiative). Take care Jodie
