Hi,
yes that fated day has arrived...Monday, the first day back at work. Holiday is over, just a memory, was it real? After looking through the over 900 photos I took while away, it was real and it was an adventure! But to catch everyone up with the detail....
The flight to Hong Kong was uneventful as you normally wish for on a flight. We got our baggage sorted out, more on the way home than we had on the way out, and found our bus to Kowloon....Hong Kong has changed a lot in the long time since I was there last! Always an amazing city! We settled into our very expensive hotel room, you have to remember we were paying a whopping US$ 8 a night in Siem Reap, and for the first time since going away, I was not up at 5:30 AM. Still cannot figure what that was all about...
We did not have a lot of time so we headed out to the Star Ferry for a ride across the harbor to Hong Kong Island and breakfast....making it back to the hotel just in time for check out...it was off the the airport once again....
The overnight flight to San Francisco was just that, an overnight flight but we did manage to have an open seat in our little row so we had plenty of room...a couple of movies watched and a couple hours of sleep and we were in San Francisco, if only for 8 hours......
We check out luggage and head to the city for a walk and a non airline based meal! The weather was nice, a bit cold but sunny...we wandered around the Embaracadero and down to Fisherman's Wharf then back to to the BART station and the airport...one more overnight flight to go....
Finally we arrived home yesterday (Sunday) morning. Tired, well more like exhausted, the post travel chores took up most of the day....
So that is it, adventure all done....For those who are interested, I have posted all, yes all, of the photos I took over the two weeks...I will warn you that there are a lot....my intent is to catalog them at least and if possible cut the number down to a manageable level. After seeing them all a couple times now, I am not sure how well that will work out....
One last thing to say about Cambodia. If you have ever thought about going, go. If you have never thought about going, you should. It is an amazing, magical place that I believe will touch your heart. I will certainly be going back, there is a lot more to experience....thanks for coming along, I hope you enjoyed the trip. I know we did.....J
PS: all the photos, please let me know if it does not work for you...
