It seems funny how everything works. It has only been a week but it seems like so much longer that we've been away...today was amazing and the tuk tuk ride was completely worth the 'shower' at the end of the hike...still needed a shower to wash off the red dirt that caked on everything but that is a small price to pay...
Today was a day of 'signs' and things to ponder. The signs can speak for themselves (assuming I can get the pics loaded) but the things to ponder, well here there are...as well as random road side goings on...
What do you make of dogs, cats and chickens playing together?
How do you get all those piglets in a basket with out them escaping?
Really, I know those are rice fields but where does the 'rice' actually come from?
Could I drive a tuk tuk without loss of life? (not going to actually attempt that one!)
How big is that bug if a kid can tie a string to it and it CAN still fly away if you let go of the string? Seriously, do you want to meet that bug in a dark alley? Well I guess maybe if it has been caught and deep fried by a bug seller!
(Sorry Rae)...What are those green things in the palm trees? Well....those would be coconuts....
Also for today we had a scavenger hunt...
Can you find a Lexus SUV that does not have the word 'Lexus' plastered all over it' ?
Can you find a child under the age of three with pants but no top? You get no points for the reverse!
Can you name, find and eat the candy in the banana leaf?
Can you find a woman in pj pants in any other color than pink?
That is it for today...more later!
Tomorrow is a day of cooking, well learning to cook Khmer and on Sunday, well we are not sure yet...Monday is off to Phenom Penn and our final days in a very wonderful country. Before I sign off today I have to make one comment...it is about land mines...in the guide book, describing the place we went today, it mentions that you should not stray off the path as there may be land mines in the area..I will not comment on that but I can tell you this, from the signs we have seen and the people impacted, this IS a very real issue that the Cambodian people have to deal with every day.....maybe some day they won't...
