Hello there,
Just a short message from Preah Sihanouk. The trip to sinahouk was breath taking, I enjoyed it a lot. Even though i had somebody sitting next to me who did not speak english. I still enjoyed it. The only downside is all the european / american men who travel with young asian women. You see it alot everywhere, white men with asian girls. I do not know if it should disturb me or not. But unfortunately one of the guys told me he got the girl pregnant, and that he did not care, as he was leaving soon anyway. On the way I saw a place with lots of spirithouses (see the picture) you find them everywhere. Cambodians pray there and leave food for the spirits. They come in al sorts of shapes and colours, one even prettier than the other.
Sihanoukville is nice and hilly, and beautiful white beaches, beautiful sunsets. I can't say I have done a lot here yet, mostly just enjoyed the beach and the sun, got a terrible sunburn. Dr Sophal took me out for dinner on saturday, he is a very kind man, and he's taking good care of me. He took
me to a guesthouse, and I stayed there one night, and then I moved to another one. A little but further from the beach (5 mins instead of 3 mins). Its is nice and lots of foreigners there to talk to. Today I also went to the MCH clinic (mother and child health) to talk to dr Sophal about possibilities for the research, specially because he is going to phnom penh for a few days. But he will take me out for dinner again when he comes back.
Well this is all for now. No really interesting things have happened, just relaxing and enjoying life, and getting a suntan. I'll have more news soon.
Lots of Love, and missing you all!!!

I am glad you have a suntan although it will look out of place once you get back home.

Hallo Loes,
