Straight off the bus we met a great guy who knew where everything was, which is helpful when you have no plans or travel guides. He drove us around choosing a guest house and we ended up spoiling ourselves with a really nice room in a hotel in the centre of town, even if it’s sort of a building site in places. We can get the Animal Planet channel and can stop drinking warm water now we have a fridge. We had kindle time as the bus was okay but not great for resting.
Then I insisted we went to try out The Chinese Noodle restaurant. From the outside it looks like just another street food style canteen but the reviews are impressive and I was dead keen. On arrival you can see into the kitchen where the noodles are hand pulled and we were served pitchers of tea right on sitting down. The menu was simple and specialised, no pictures, and the place was full of locals; all big ticks for me with restaurants. They had dumplings which I haven’t seen on a menu since Nepal when I was sixteen where there are called momos. Maybe I haven’t been looking hard enough, I don’t know, but there were amazing, one of my favourite foods and I was like a little kid over ordering them.
After, we went to a bakery where I got some frozen yoghurt to take home and have in bed while I finished the Hunger Games trilogy. I did finish them and now what will I do with my life? They were just so good,
Lots of love to all, Katie x
