We had to change hotels today as we had decided to stay an extra day cause we loved the place. The Goldie Boutique was booked so we moved around the corner to the Golden Gate. It was $20 a night and had free laundry. We were only down to about 1 shirt each and basically to the point of wearing our undies inside out to get extra use so the poor bastards had to wash about 5kgs of clothes.

We had a good sleep in and dragged ourselves out of bed about 11 and went to the Anise Hotel for Breakfast. We then found John and he took us back to the Central Markets where we went stupid. I love looking through the food section and seeing all the meat and seafood getting carved up and put on ice. The undersized mudcrabs just killed me but there were thousands of them for sale all about the size of my fist.

We bought a few things and then walked around trying to find something to eat. We ended up at a local street place. I ordered the squid that they were cooking on coals for 5000 reils. As usual I'm sure the locals pay half the price. They sliced it up and served it with salad and some chilli dressing and I kid you not, I was having multiples (seem to be doing that alot in Cambodia over the food). Damian was wondering around wanting noodles, but they don't seem to have their noodles hot hot like at home, the soup is kind of tepid so I think he might have been worrying about the water not being boiled and then spending the next week shitting through the eye of a needle.

We then went to the Sorya Department store for some aircon and to look at the clothes there. You are better off shopping at the markets.

We ended up cruising back to our hotel about 5pm and got ready to go and get some dinner. We went around the corner to a restaurant that was across from our old hotel called the Khmer Surin or something like that. It seemed popular with tour groups as you'd always see a 40 seater but with the oldies being dropped off so we decided to give it a go. The atmosphere and the decor is just gorgeous. The food was stunning as. We the went up the road to a bar where it was happy hour. Had a few mojito's and met an Aussie who happened to be working in Phnom Penh for an NGO. We stumbled up the stairs to the bar upstairs and had kept drinking. The bar tender gave me a shot called a 'Monkey Brain' and after having just one, I was smashed. We ended up sitting and chatting with a few french, Romanians and Canadians and had a ball. Stumbled home about 2am as we had booked a bus ticket with Paramount to take us to Saigon the next morning and were being picked up at 0730. Can't remember getting home (20 metre stumble away) and can't remember going to sleep but that's nothing too unusual.
