August 30-31- one week left!

Kat left on the 30th and after I spent the rest of the day cleaning everything out of the apartment. The landlords told us to just leave everything in piles, so we had a garbage pile on one side of the hallway and a free stuff pile on the other side. I also packed all my stuff. The apartment is so empty!

In the evening I made dinner with the leftovers and watched movies til I fell asleep.

On the 31st I woke up early because I thought the landlord was coming to give me my electricity refund. I got ready and sat watching TV until Mason called that he was home. Mason's letting me sleep on his couch for the next few days before my flight. He was at work so I was waiting for him to get home to let me in. I tracked down someone who spoke English in the landlord's family and found that the landlord was gone but they had my refund waiting for me. Yay! My tuk tuk driver took me to Mason's and I got settled in. I headed to Cafe Fresco for lunch and wifi and ended up staying there a long time because it started POURING and I didn't want to leave. I finally got back and Mason was home from work. We watched Shaun of the Dead and In the Loop (funny British movie about the lead up to the Iraqi War) and ordered some food.

I'm hoping to get on one of these waitlisted flights because I'm ready to get back to NY. Wish me luck!
