Blessing
Monks blessing the new weaving building Hi everyone
First good and bad news. Moeuth has come around a bit although unable to speak and use his right side. He has been brought back to Siem Reap and is currently in a nursing home (money donated and also small insurance from Globalteer). We hope to visit him tomorrow although we hear one side of his face is pretty smashed up - so sad as he is a good looking young guy and knows it (in a nice way).
Still having great fun with the kids - just love it. I had a rabbit mask on last week taking the lesson!! Cries of teacher rabbit and me jumping around for a few minutes. Bob is teaching rocks and minerals (I am still happy with ABC's and counting) and really enjoying it and taking it very seriously. On 19 Feb we had the annual Puppet Parade around town. Bob and I spent a half day at the Teacher Training College helping to make puppets with the children. A very hot 2 hours walking around the town making sure the kids didn't stray. They were so excited as most of the children have not been into the town for

Arriving at the village a whole year. A very successful evening. We also had a day out with the older children (early start 5.45!!) and went off in a lorry with slatted seats. We visited a conservation area with a few animals followed by a trip up a very large mountain. I did not go as Bob said he would be more worried about me than the kids falling down. Unfortunately, one of the other vollies, a German lad called Lucas didn't get a ticket and poor Bob had to go up the mountain twice. Very noisy but tired children on the way home - some of them fell asleep on each other.
Yesterday we returned from 4 days in Luang Prabang, Laos which was a nice break and beautiful country. Very different from Cambodia as there is a lot of French influence in the town - lovely French colonial buildings and obviously a wealthier country than Cambodia. Food was great and although it was very hot it was not as sweaty and the evenings were cooler. At the moment I have just returned from school on my bike and my clothing is all wet (urghh!). Had a funny day today with the

Making kites littlies. I was teaching the time "What is the time" "It is ... o'clock" and going around the class. As they get bored so quickly I decided that we ought to go over their colours. All colours hanging around the classroom. Asked Citah (seetar) what colour and he replied "5.00 o'clock" (head banging against brick wall time). I said no what colour and he replied Friday as the previous week we had been doing days of the week. The funny thing was that Citah is the younger brother of the teacher Sopea - she was not amused.
We have put photos on this blog and hope that they come out!
LOL Lyn & Bob xx
PS Photos seemed to have worked. The boy with Lyn fanned her all the time during the parade. Up to our photo limit so Laos next time.
