Our day trip to Kinpun started with a boat ride up river. Saw lots of daily life along river banks on route.
So Mingun Paya, is a brick structure ~ 50 meters hight. Now this was only the base of the structure. Intentions were for this to be ~ 150 meters in height (3X the present size). It took 29 years of forced labour to get it to this size, then the king died and everyone stopped. Not sure on its date but it was cracked by an earthquake in 1838, crack seen in picture.

Also saw here was Hsinbyune Paya which is the cover shot of the LP.
