I have just been informed that the $25 loan I made through Kiva last July to a group of women in Cambodia has been completely repaid.
My $25 was pooled with loans from several others to provide a loan to a this group of women who were taking a village bank loan from Kiva. The group leader used her part of the loan to repair her house, and the other women used their share for a variety of purposes.
So now I have been able to lend the same $25 again to a group of 3 women in Vietnam who wish to improve their small shops.
