Depression
This year I would describe it as my great depression. This year I went through a lot in my life. I lost a lot of friends and a couple family members. My grades were not that good when it mattered the most. I could not play the sport I loved the most due to my knee injury and family problems. My discipline was bad and I got in trouble for a lot of things for making bad decisions. I dropped a lot of my friends; however, I plan for me to turn over a new leaf.
1) Picture number 12 shows a picture of Cristians protesting against Muslims during a prayer in Cairo. This is significant to me because I am a Muslim and I find it very disturbing when things like this happen because that is just wrong in several ways. People should keep their thoughts to themselves because Muslims have every right to pray without disturbance. My first impression when I say this picture is that this is normal comming from stereotypical Christians, especially since the Semptember 11th attack. This picture makes me want to ask: Why do people stereotype against different religions?
2) Picture number 16 illustrates a police officer pepper spraying students during their sit-in protest. This is sigificant to me because I like to protest for things I believe in like Muslim's rights. I think this should be against the law for a police officer, someone who is suppose to serve and protect citizens, to pepper spray students for protesting for what they believe. The question it makes me ask is, "How far those freedom of speech go?"
3) Picture number 21 displays a Steve Job's figure in a apple store in Hong Kong. This is significant to me because Steve Jobs created plenty different types of electronics that I have been using since I was little. My first impression of this picture is a picture in my mind of Steve Job's death. A question that comes to my mid after looking at this picture is, "Who will replace Steve Jobs?"
4) Picture number 22 illustrates the cars that were abandoned on Chicago's Lake Shore Drive during the "Snowpocalypse." This relates to me because I was part of the people stuck on Lake shore Drive with my family. We first got stuck in an alley by the school on our way to drop Demarcus off at home. Then, we got stuck on Lake shore Drive on our way home till 1am. Will this type of snow ever fall again in Chicago?
