Hey 😊
Morro de Sao Paulo is like paradise, palms trees, beaches and no cars in the main area. The boat over to Morro was nice, we sat on the front with our feet over the front just being travelers so that was nice, we were warned that the boat was reallly bumpy so the girls took dramamin to calm themselve but it wasnt bumpy at all! Then we walked down the cobbled street to the beach walkway and found our hostel. Is a nice hostel, colourful and guy seems nice. The streets are mainly sand and the pousadas (hotels) along the beach are beautiful.
They sell pastys that are similar to georgian hajapury which i love (and they are a good greasy late might snack)!
We then walked up to the lighthouse and watched the sunset which was again beautiful. Haha although sat behind us were a guy from israel and an american girl trying to be really travellery. The girl said she doesnt really have a home, and the guy said who needs machines and money when you can just watch a sunset....... He probs flew here so thats a
bit of a contradiction! Also said relationships where neither speak the same language can work :/
Met a nice guy from denmark in our hostel called peter so have hung with him a bit. He joined us on our boat trip to gamboa (a clay cliff where you can get really muddy) to islands with natural pools and snorkeling. Snorkeling sucked but the natural pools were so relaxing and covering ourselves in mud was fun! Had dinner at restaurant that reopened there kitchen late for us, and had stuff on menu like "duck to the oven, sheep to the wine and rice to the garlic" so that was entertaining! Then we had drinks in a samba bar and met some girls from denmark who taught us an hilarious drinking game that pete sucked at and honesty was awesome at for some reason.
On the next day we had a nice beach day reading an swimming then went on a horse ride. Was very fun! My horse was called neigh, emilys was david bowie coz of different coloured eyes, and sophies was van gogh coz it was missing an ear! Got to see a lot of the island with amazing views, a little waterfall an went faster than galloping apparently. The guy said for my first time i am lucky to go that fast, which echoed soph and ems views! Then we had another samba bar night with garafas of beer and caiparinhas (more limey drinks), and saw the travellery israely guy. All of us took the piss out of him, i said how are you getting home - ferry or swimming? And are you gonna walk or fly from salvador? Pete just straight up said who needs machines?! He still wanted to add us on facebook...... So we gave him honestys name.
Next day we just chilled on the beach and i got burnt an finished my book about dragons 😊. Went to get pasties and drinks, when pete asked for a clean can of guarana(like red bull) the guy said son of a bitch in portuguese not knowing me and pete would understand so that almost lead to a fight! So now buy pasties from somewhere else! Brazilians have a beachball tennis game that all of them seem to be amazing at so me and pete gave it a try, at first we could only manage a rally of 3, but in the end we could keep a fast one going. Then had a chilled night.
Today i decided to stay out of the sun and watch chelsea, which was well worth it 😊, then we went banana boating and that was hilarious! Honesty and soph couldnt stop screaming, em got a face full of sea water and me and pete were flun off a few times. The boat actually turned over twice! The boat was organised by a girl with huge plastic breasts that didnt move at all so that was weird!
Having end of summer party tonight in pulsar.
So party was awesome! Rained a bit but was a foam party so didnt massively matter. Was really fun and had quite a few people out with us, and knew quite a few locals by then so felt like a local! Got some calssic photos. Also on the walk there peter accidently kicked a dog coz he was tipsy and the dogs head was on the walkway so that was cringe and hilarious. Had lots of samba drinks (cachaza and coke), kept getting two and told the girls it was 2 for 10 reals (it was just 1 for 5) so they got smashed as they kept getting two! Could hardly open my eyes the next mornig due to the foan then just hung around all day in hostel being hungover and waiting for our boat to leave the island then heading to Foz de Iguazu.
Love love
