Oh, the familiar travel blog! Gosh this brings back really awesome memories :) I can't believe it has been almost two years since I have visited my blog site. So much has changed, but some things never change, i.e. my travel itch! I'm about to launch another great adventure. My South America trip two years ago was about exploration, experience, and lots of fun. It turned into more of an experience that healed, rejuvinated, and refueled my fire. In the meantime, life has happened.
This adventure is totally different. Since I returned from my last big trip, I've moved significantly forward in my career and education. I am half done with my Masters degree at University of Denver, which as education does, moves me in a much smarter direction! I am now working for Raytheon Polar Services, the federal contractor for the United States Antarctic Program and National Science Foundation. It wasn't until a couple months ago that I really understood my job, so please feel free to read more information at www.usap.gov. I am a Project Specialist for research projects out of McMurdo Station in Antarctica. I will deploy to "the Ice" (the "code" word for Antarctica) for 2.5 months on September 29th. After my Ice time, I'm going to travel the South Island of New Zealand with my very supportive and wonderful boyfriend. I should be back in the States on December 27th. Whew!
NOTE: I will not be posting as much as when I backpacked South America for a couple reasons - not much movement and unreliable internet connection. If you're wanting to follow my blog this time, you might want to click on "subscribe", so you get notification when I post something.
20 days....and counting...

I'm glad you'll be keeping us up to date on your adventures. Have fun and stay away from leopard seals :-) I will be back in Denver in the spring and expect to be bombarded with photos, OK?
