Awaking at 5.30am to the sound of birds and other unknown faraway creature noises I stuck on a pair of jeans and headed out to the game park where I met up with an animal trainer. He took us out on foot to the middle of the game park where Lions where grazing. Armed with a stick the lions seemed to be absolutely no threat to us; but a huge threat to other wildlife. Upon arrival the lions scoped out some Zebra and began stalking; unbelievable to see it all in person. No dinner for our lioness though the Zebra where to smart this time.
For the next few hours we just followed the lions around, touching them; getting photos and generally admiring these Kings of the Jungle. Walking with the lions; an experience I will never forget.
I returned to camp full of energy. Already this weekend I had swam with Elephants and walked with lions; something you only see on National Geographic. After a quick breakfast David and I headed out to the stables to ride horses around the game park. Considering this was the first time I had rode horses I was pretty darn scared. More

scared that riding those pesky Elephants. It was my luck I had a pretty pissed off horse and it kept going into the bush and grazing. The highlight of the ride through the park was when we approached a pack of Zebra and they started to taunt us. As we got closer they ran away and we kept pursuit until finally we came to peace… both breeds of animal claiming victory without a fight. Arriving back at the stables was a bit of relief; my horse was tripping over the whole journey and really didn’t want me on his back. I feel sorry for the person that does get bucked off that horse in the future.
After my early morning of antics I set up a fishing rod and head out in the canoe, mounting myself in reeds for that perfect catch. My fishing lasted for 4 casts before I got tired of the never ending knots and tangles I got myself into with the fishing wire. I’m not a born fisherman I guess. When I got back we packed up our camp and headed back home. After resting for about an hour David and I headed out Mountain
Cuddling TogetherSo amazing to see these kings of the jungle to be so relaxed around us.
Biking for 15km; we trekked through the bush riding through streams and muddy hills; was great fun. After an amazing weekend I have never felt so alive and full of energy. Seeing such things as Lions and Elephants so close has broadened my thoughts on these amazing creatures. This has been a weekend I shall not forget for a very long time.
