Wed - Oct 7th
Today it was off to the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. We had to get out of the truck and walk across the Lake Kariba dam. The Zimbabwe immigration took ages. It was slow that we were there over an hour and it was not a cool day. We got to Kushinga and the lake Karimba campsite. This campsite had a nice pool and cheap alcohol but that was about it. There were a gazillion flies during the day and the mossies at night. I will be glad to be out of this campsite tomorrow and out on the houseboat.

Thur - Oct 8th
We left the Kushinga camp site around 9am and made our way to the lake to start our two days on the houseboat on Lake Kariba. We made a quick stop at a quick stop for some water then it was down to the house boat. The houseboat was massive and could house 40 people. Luckily with just the 18 of us there was plenty of space and I had a whole room to myself and all the rooms had their own bathroom. The houseboat was nice. The lower deck was all accommodations and the kitchen. The top deck was half covered and half open. The covered deck had all the tables, couches, chairs and the bar. The outside part had a zaccuzi. Although the Jacuzzi was just a pool of water non-heated. Which was fine because it was sweltering hot and the cool pool of water was nice. We could not swim in the lake except for a couple designated spots. Too many crocs and hippos. We did stop a couple times for a swim and there is also a cage that they lowered into the water for those who did not want to risk swimming in the lake. I did not worry about it. I swam. That night was our bad taste dress up party. It was hilarious. We drew names out of a hat and the name we drew we had to dress that person up. Sarita drew my name and it was the group contentious that my outfit, that she got for me, was the best. There was far too much alcohol consumed that night. I nearly polished off my bottle of Captain Morgan. Plus there was a punch that was made and I competed in 4 boat races. It become a bit fuzzy after a while.

Fri - Oct 9th
Rough day after the fancy dress night. I don’t think my hang over was all that bad. I felt fine I was just a little shattered and my equilibrium was off all day. Breakfast hit the spot but I spent most of the day just laying down to avoid getting dizzy when I stood up. I got better as the day went on but never 100%. After dinner, which was a fantastic roast chicken and potato dinner, I just went to sleep. Or I should say I went to bed. I could not sleep because it was too hot. Tomorrow will be a better day.
