{h2}Hello to everyone.{/h2}
I hope that this blog finds you well. What have you all been up to? I expect whatever it is, it is colder than here. I hope so for you lot. It's typical I have been here a month and already i am missing the nice cool days in UK. Ok i know that its quite bad at the moment.
THis week has been more packed largely because of the HIV campaign that I have been working on. It is up and running properly now and this means we have a three hour workshop talking to a variety of people. For example, young people, women, people with the condition and communities all over Moshi. It is very common here for people with the condition to be cast out of their families and this week we haev been working to try and find acccomodation and support for these people. THough that is hard largely because there is no welfare state.
Good news about Sophia, she has seen her neurologist for epilepsy and is now more aware of the condition being medical. hopefully she also understands the importance of taking he daily medication. so things should be
on the mend for her.
I had an amazing night last night. We went to one of the volunteers projects for a meal and a night of afrian dancing. It was awesome. the food was amazing and plentiful and the dancing was great. it was a variety of dancing, mime, comedy and brezk dancing and gymnastics. all very good, though the women wore i love nyc tshirts which was a little weird. though the gymnastics and break dancing was awesome. puts ash rahman (if anyone from that neck of the woods is reading this) to shame!
Have a couple of job interviews this weekend for a couple of secondary schools in the Moshi area. I hope i get the job. I have printed off my references so the people that were extra kind/im sure made it up, will hopefully help me bag the job. ill use my brummy charm! second thoughts better not if i want the job.
Right now im in the internet cafe. THis stupid man who is blatently jobless is still outside he keeps trying to meet with me. its silly ive told him to leave me alone. he should just get a life!
dont worry i being safe for those of you that worry i am too trusting. me!
I went to Moshi forest yesterday and got near some monkeys, they were really cute, but this was a big thing for me since i hate monkeys due to watching outbreak the film with morgan freeman in as a young kid and being very frightened of ebola virus! its in uganda not tanzania. BUt none the less i dont like monkeys and so was impressed with myself that i was so close. no pics unfortunately it took enough just to be there.
no other news really, though i am going to dar es salaam the capital next week. so i should have some exciting news from there.
what is up with all of you lot? thanks so much for all the letters i have received i have already sent replies to most of you and the rest will be done very soon. letters are so cool. i even did my mail dance! most of you now think im weird! its just a dance i used to do in first year of uni whenever i got post, tho usually from the bank
or seomthing.
sorry for ramble
my love to everyone.
peace
katie
