Met up with the group I would be travelling with. 2 girls from US, a couple from US and a Canadian girl then fought our way through the crazy traffic in Arusha, thereafter a 2 hour drive to our camp above the Lake Manyara reserve. We go on our first gamedrive around lake Manyara, a soda lake with lots of flamingoes. The park is quite small but has tree climbing lions, giraffe, elephant Zebra etc so great for a first taste of safari. The campsite is a permanent one so tents are pitched on a concrete pad with camp beds, all very comfortable and Captain Delicious, aka Charles the Cook excels himself with a 4 course dinner.
