Ok. Yesterday I took a boat out to Robben Island.
Unfortunately, I took some anti-motion sickness medication and it made me SUPER drowsy.
So I spent the day fighting to stay awake.
It's a 20ish min boat ride, and then they load you on to buses and you get a tour around the island.
The tour guide was FANTASTIC, very funny, very interesting.
I wish I could've just spent three hours walking around the island, because in the bus you kind of scoot around quickly.
The second part of the tour is in the maximum security part of the prison.
Our guide had been locked up there for 3 or 5 years, I don't remember, for treason.
He was wonderful as well.
Very interesting, very powerful.
Unfortunately, a helicopter flew onto the island and it was 50 Cent.
Yah, seriously.
So while our tour guide was pouring his heart out about his struggle, everyone was looking out the window to see if they could see 50.
Then, we're walking towards Nelson Mandela's cell (which was 2mX3m, and he slept on two matts on the ground).
Me and the guide were the first to round the corner, and there's
the whole G-unit posse.
I reconized only 50 and Lloyd Banks, but there was like 15 of them, filming their tour around the island.
It was a little surreal.
I didn't take a picture, because he's there just like me, seeing an important historical site.
But then everyone else heard he'd walked by and they were flipping out for like ten minutes.
I was annoyed, to say the least.
I kind of just wanted to get on with the tour.
Today's my last day in Cape Town, and it's POURING.
So I don't think I'm going to do much.
