Yesterday I finally got out and saw some things, which was nice.
I walked down to the Waterfront, which took about half an hour, and I can successfully report I only got honked at once.
Once I got there I had a nice breakfast and went to the Robben Island museum. (http://www.robben-island.org.za/)
Robben Island is where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.
So after looking around the island, I realized going to the prison was something I really wanted to do, so I'm heading out on Saturday (all of you ANTM fans will remember the ladies goign there in cycle... 7?)
I spent most of the day at the Waterfront, it's super touristy down there so I made sure not to buy anything except a memory card (turns out I forgot mine in Medicine Hat).
It was nice and busy, and there was a few musical acts around the jetty's so it felt really chill.
One choir had a dude on crutches, so I sat and watched him hobble for like half an hour. He was still giving it 110% though, it was great.
On my way back I hit up the African Market, which is basically where you can buy all the touristy souvenirs you can buy at the Waterfront, but for way way less.
I'm getting kind of used to the exchange rate, but not 100%.
Last night we sat up at the hostel drinking $1 beers.
I was talkign to Christina from Spain who doesn't speak english, Annie from France who speaks half french half english, and Simon a full on super fast talking Brit. So I'm kind of translating.
Today's a holiday, so it's going to be pretty chill because nothing's open. More walking.
Hope everyone is well! Talk to you soon!
