Lions HeadForeground views only - the hillside at Lions Head was covered with these beautiful purple flowers.
I did not get to paraglide off Lion's Head!
It was the one thing that I was really looking forward to, and it just was not a happening thing. I did get to walk up most of it yesterday, but didn't see all that much - it was cloudy, and I was in the cloud for most of the time. I then hit the turnaround time that I had set for myself, and was short of the peak.
Today wasn't that much better. All looked fine for a great walk up onto Table Mountain, but I got about 30 minutes into the walk up Platakloof Gorge and it was back in the cloud. This was serious rain, helped along by the run-off from the top of the gorge walls. Did this in about 67 minutes, which seemed to impress the guide on the red buss, but its hard to tell how good a time it really was. Then it was onto Maclears Beacon - today was not a day for the view, just get there and get back to the top station for the cable car. All up, was about 2hrs 15min to do the loop.

Maclears Beacon - Table MountainIf I was disappointed with the view from Lions Head, this was the view when I reached the peak of Table Mountain (Maclears Beacon?).
the red bus, great seafood lunch at the next stop and back here for the Kumuka meeting tonight.
Not many photos - that will have to wait until I am using a USB enabled machine.

Finally caught up with the internet here in Swakopmund. Even now, it has been completely unreliable - not working at all this morning, and incredibly slow at other times.
