Hey guys, just a quick note and some pics... we did the cape peninsula tour today and it was stunning. I've never seen so many mountains, valleys, beaches, and wild animals!
Today I saw, in the wild, an ostrich, some zebra, baboons, african penguins (super cute oh my god!) and assorted lizards and birds. What a cool place! And it was warm today with a strong sun so now my face is a little "tanned" :o)
Anyway, enjoy these pics, i'll put up more later but internet cafe is so slow it takes sooo long to upload pics.

Hello and welcome to "Africa Blog"!
From November 2006 to February 2007 I have been to South Africa (primarily Cape Town and Port Elizabeth), Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

The writing itself is pretty random, patchy, and personal, but at the very least I hope you like the pictures and videos I put up because they are definitely the cream of the crop!

Pretty much the most south western place in Africa... it was pretty scary driving along all those winding roads!

The prison cell where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of his life. A very thought provoking place...
Township
One of the "townships" outside of Capetown. Millions of people live in these shanty's... some without water and electricity. Apparently the government is trying to replace them with proper housing (and we saw some of this work) before the 2010 World Cup games in Capetown.

Are you really in South Africa?? Love the pictures - I can't believe you actually saw penguins! We never saw anything like that in Mexico ... wish we were there with u.

Janine, the pictures are stunning and you are making me envious! Here it is pouring, cold and damp. The good news...we met another Weimaraner and have a 'date' on Sunday for a joint hike! Finally Kita will have met her match and she might even get tired out. You must be so glad you went!! Enjoy yourself! Cheers for now.
