This small white cat that belongs to Jean and Corne has taken a liking to me. she follows me everywhere and is constantly clawing at my legs... she is actually quite adorable but I cannot figure out why she likes me so much... there are some Canadians staying here right now, and it is kinda nice to hear a similar accent. they were surprised as well to find a southern neighbor working here... Sunday is a big day. A big big day. a very special lady arrives via giant air bird in the city of Gold... it is about time!

News:
- it has been confirmed that the BBC will be broadcasting their pre, during and post- World Cup radio coverage from Hodge Podge Lodge. They came out and surveyed the place...very nice guys. I think it will be very interesting and bring in some more attention to the backpackers. So I must say I am rather excited.
- The mayor of Rustenburg and FIFA have decided to have a team of cyclists ride from our lodge to the stadium with the World Cup trophy when it makes its' visit to Rustenburg. Again, quite thrilled about that one. This means not only will local news be involved, but international as well. Maybe you will see me on ESPN.
- The family has acquired a second location to start a smaller lodge which will help so much as we have actually had to start turning people away for the World Cup. In a strange situation, there was a business closing down that made it known they were selling furniture and fridges...so we went to check it out as obviously we will be needing quite a lot of items. The business was a house...that previously hosted imported Thai females... that were involved in the sex trade. The place was very strange- and there was an odd vibe- as the girls had recently been arrested and deported...hence the business closing... but I must say it was great to raid the kitchen for supplies- rice noodles, Pho soup mixes, chili paste, pickled galangal and ginger... good times indeed!!
