Magical Moment
Touching a Lion A 5 hour drive found us back in Johannesburg, and back at the Purple Palms Hostel for 4 nights. It was nice to go back to a place where people knew us. This time we got to sleep in the cool cabin in the back yard. Good thing the electric heater worked well, though it was not as cold as it was when we were here the previous week.

The night we arrived, USA played Ghana in the Round of 16. Italy, one of the 3 main teams I was rooting for, was already knocked out of the tournament. So, I was left with only USA and Brasil. We did not go to the game in Rustenberg, but instead decided to watch it at the Fan Fest in Sandton. They had a HUGE big screen TV, many booths selling food and drinks. As it was cold and the late game, there were probably only 300-400 people. We went with 2 travellers from Lebanon from the hostel who I liked a lot. We were one of the few people rooting for the USA, as Ghana was the last remaining African team. I loved these cool
Go Argentina
Arg v Mexico at the "bagel" looking giant monsters that were controlled by people as well the concert that was before the game. However, the thing I loved the most was running around and throwing hay all over daddy. I did this for about 20 minutes straight and just about covered him completely as it stuck to his clothes.
Ghana scored the first goal and it was great to see everybody celebrating. USA scored in the second half so it went into extratime. It was a great game. Ghana scored in extra time to win it. While we were disappointed that the USA team was going home, we were happy for Africa and felt the USA played good during the World Cup.....and after all, WE were not going home.

The next day daddy took me to "bunny park". This was a place where there were lots of rabbits running around as well as other animals. I had so much fun chasing after them, as well as going on the swings and teeter totter. That night we stayed at the hostel and watched Brasil beat Chile. At least we were going to have 1 team in the quarterfinals.
The following day we had another game to go to. This time it was Argentina v Mexico at Soccer City (The Bagel as I liked to call it) . Daddy likes Argentina and we were actually there during the last world cup and watched Argentina beat Mexico and celebrated afterwards at the obelisk in Buenos Aires....He says it was a lot of fun, but I dont remember that trip, as i was only 12 months old
Buenos Aires/Argentina. Once again, I did the "celebration competition", once again I was really nervous, once again daddy was proud how brave I was, and once again I won!!!! now we had 2 giant Zakumis!!! I was sooooo happy. Daddy explained that we had to ship both home, and I understood as they were very big (he didn't tell me that the real reason was to make room for wine). The 3 of us then watched Argentina beat Mexico 3-1, though once again, I fell asleep through most of it.

Our last full day in Johannesburg, I was ready to see more animals so daddy took me to the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve. While we saw some water buffalos,
kudu, ostrich, zebra, rhino, and some wild dogs, the best part was the lions. I was able to touch, pet, and play with real baby lions. First, I was with a yellow one. I liked it so much that I went into a different area with a white one. It was sooooo awesome and one of the best parts of my trip. I especially liked the white one as he started to play with me like a kitten does. Before leaving we went into a really cool cave, the Wonder Cave. We went down a LOT of steps and then took an elevator down even further. When we got out of the elevator we found ourselves in a HUGE cave. It was really neat. When I got out, 2 people from Univision interviewed me. They were from Miami as well. I had fun talking in front of the camera. What a great day!
