I am currently sitting in an internet cafe in Maputo, Mozambique. So sorry if there aren't too many details.
I don't really know what day of the week it is, but I will try to re-cap what I have done the past week or so.
We left Durban early in the morning and drove through the Kingdom of Swaziland. It has beautiful countryside and we could see the different boks running along the main highway.
The border patrol entering Swaziland was easy, but entering into Mozambique was another story. They were trying to convince us that it cost R2000, or about $200, for car insurance to enter the country even though we had all the documents saying we already had the car insurance. Men from outside, who did not work in the border patrol, followed us in and were trying to make the actual police make us pay. After about an hour, they finally gave up and let us go through. Then we stopped for the night in Maputo, just in time for their Independence (from Portugal) celebrations.
We left the next morning to drive to Zavora Beach where we spent the night and enjoyed a fresh seafood meal.
Then we went to Tofo Beach where we slept for two rainy nights in huts. Next time I go backpacking, I will definitely be bringing my own sleeping bag.
