For those of you who have been with us as we have navigated the wonderful world of local artisans here in Ksar El Kebir, today is a great day!!! We were told that our hand crafted furniture was ready for delivery. Now, what that means, is that you find some guy with a rickety cart and hope he can make it through the crowded streets to your house without the newly acquired and completely awesome furniture falling off of said cart. To our pleasant surprise, it all made it unscratched and absolutely beautiful!!! Just look!!! Just so you know, it was far cheaper to have the furniture custom built for us than it was to purchase prefabricated cam-locking press-board furniture. The only down side, was of course the amount of time it took to get it. However, because we would pass by the shop where it was being made, it allowed us to stop and chat every few days and we have now become very good friends with the owner and his family. Hamdullah! Rome, our furniture and our new friendships... none were built in a day... but they were all worth the patience and the wait.

New Furniture
Clay and Ann, Your new furniture is absolutely stunning!!! It is so, so beautiful! It is like a work of art! Your new friends did a wonderful job. What craftsmanship! You couldn't even find that type of work in the U.S. You need to bring that back with you! It was so great to hear from you, and to read another blog. I have missed them! I love, love, love the windows in the room with all the furniture. I loved leaded and stained glass. Would have a house full of it, if I could. Hope you are doing well, and feeling healthy. It looks like you are settling in, and making a home!!! Do you still need school supplies? If so, let me know what you need. I really enjoy hearing from you, and learning what is going on in your lives. Keep doing the blogs! I really enjoy them. I love and miss you both! Aunt Pat
