Assidi in Asilah!

So Friday I went to Asilah!

Kerry and I decided to go first class as we still didnt feel too well and couldnt be doing with the hussel and bussel!

First class was good! Aircon all the way and a large seat for the 4 hour train journey. The journey wasnt too bad at all and we arrived in Asilah around 5ish. We decided to stay at hotel Belle Vue. Although there was no Belle vue! The rooms were beautifully decorated but the factilites were slightly poor to say the least!

The first night there was a wedding ceremony around the town. There was a horse and a sort of box on top which contained the bride. The whole town seemed to party and celebrate! It was excellent to see and something different to experience.

The medina in Assilah is beautiful. There are murals on some walls which are beautiful and the whole medina has a sort of greek feel to it. The streets are a lot wider than most old medinas and are very very clean! We walked around and found a lovely spot which gave an excellent view of the medina.

Paradise Beach! Off we went to paradise beach. The fun started in the taxi!! 7 people in a 5 seater car! Anyway the road to the beach doesnt exist so its just rocks and bumps! However as we slowly made our way down the hill/mountain to the beach it was beautiful. There was just miles of golden sand and very few people there! We just sunbathed and swam all day. It was excellent. There was a nice breeze so we didnt even feel as though we were sun bathing! The sea was also very nice. Not too cold considering its the Atlantic! On the way back we stopped and picked up the hotel owner so there were 8 of us in the 5 seater car! Comfy was not the word!

Saturday night we went for another walk and ended up sitting near the harbour. There was a little child who was hanging around and Kerry gave him some popcorn (A bag for 20p bargain!) couple of minutes later some of his friends come and so we end up giving him the bag. He then drew and coloured a picture and gave it to Kerry! It was so cute. Whilst all the was happening 2 of the group decided to try snails!

So I gave it a go. It tasted a bit weird and slimy sort of but Im not sure whether it was nice or not! Something Ill have to try again.

Sunday we all went back to the beach for a day of relaxation!

That was pretty much it for Assilah it was excellent to get away for abit and chill on the beach. The train journey back was eventful and seemed to take forever. However after the drunken guy got chucked out of our carriage (1st class of course) we had it to our selves which was excellent!
