Sahara Desert -- Camels and more: Photos 21 to 32

I definitely wanted the tye-dyed one!!.......................

The long awaited trip was upon us. It is spring break for the school here in Morocco so we had decided to hit the road to the Sahara desert. Camels, Kasbah’s, the oasis, possibly a quad rental but for sure a camel camping excursion in the Sahara. The journey began around 5am on Sunday. Travelling in a caravan of cars from Casablanca was about 15 of our crew. Language skills are not a requirement when going east but it helps. Luckily we had JOJO. Jojo is our resident Moroccan/Frenchman who drags us around the countryside laughing all the way. He also runs the school kitchen which help in a pinch. We chose the northern route through Rabat, Meknes, Midelt, and then on to Merzouga (where we actually got snowed on……….YES, it snows in Morocco). The other crew decided to leave a day earlier and pass through Marrakesh, Ouarzazate (the city where Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, Sahara, etc.. are all filmed), and then on to Merzouga. Tiffany I remember when you first decided to date Colin. Did you have any idea he would take you half way around the world. What treasures you are storing in your heart. Keep feeding the wonder lust!!
