Now in Fes! After 2 nights in Chefchaouen am now in Fes. I wanted to do a little exploring on own, so i have set out by myself and started exploring the vast medina - market - it is busy and fun, i have a few pics from here and a bunch from Chefchaouen. These keyboards are still making me crazy, and i am anxious to get back out there, so this will be a short entry.
We are staying at some budget lodging very near the main gate to the medina. They are refurbishing the archway - see the pic below - which meant a guy was using hammer and chisel outside into the wee hours. Luckily Caitlin and I found a bar and had a few beers and a jack daniels, so i was still able to sleep - lol. I got out early this morning and when i sat down at a cafe 2 very friendly Moroccan guys insisted that I eat with them. Their breakfast was some kind of soup made from legumes - such is my french - with bread. It was okay tasting; but not at all what i wanted for breakfast. How could
i refuse, i suffered through it with a cup of coffee and tried my best to communicate. Turned out they were the guys doing the work on the archway.
I will try to write more soon, maybe from Marrakech....
