Thirteen hotels have been sued for illegally running lodges in the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

The hoteliers — three from the UK, Italy and Sweden — have set up tented camps and lodges in the park that attracts large numbers of tourists every year.

The Mara Sabuka Camp, is one of the camps said to be operating without a valid licence.

Mr Balala noted that most of the mobile camps closed down just before inspections were carried out in a crackdown on illegal facilities in the Mara conservancy.
