The Camel Safari Program is the desert name of our desert safari program that covers all the Egyptian western desert main oases.
This Desert Safari Program Costs €600 per person (minimum 4 persons), and the detailed itinerary is like the following :
Day 1: (Cairo >> Marsa Matruh, internal sightseeing tour; Total distance traveled550 Km) :
* 7:00 pick you up from the hotel in Cairo, moving ahead to Marsa Matruh (450 Km) arrival time (about 13:00).
* 13:30 To 15:00 Having lunch ( Seafood is recommended)
* 15:30 starting the sightseeing tour around Marsa Matruh visiting Romel museum and Cliopatra path - watching the sunsets at Agiba beach then back to the hotel.
Day 2: (M.Matruh >> Siwa oasis; Total distance traveled340 Km):
* 7:00 to 8:30 Breakfast.
* 9:30 movieng to Siwa oasis arrival time 12:30, check in the hotel and have a rest .
* 14:00 to 15:00 having lunch.
* 15:30 to before the sunsets you will take a tour around the big lake of Siwa and having the Bedouin tea with mint during watching the sunsets at FITNASS island,

Day 3: (sightseeing tour around Siwa oasis; Total distance traveled80 Km) :
* 8:00 to 9:30 Breakfast.
* 10:00 starting the sightseeing tour around the Siwa, visiting the following places:

Gabel Mawta (Mountain of the Dead ):
Gabel Mawta is one of the archaeological sites dating back to the Roman presence in Siwa. The Romans settled in Siwa after Cleopatra’s death. They buried their loved ones in Pharaonic style tombs located on hilltop outside the main Siwa town. These tombs have now been excavated and are open for viewing.

The Temple of the Oracle
The Temple of the Oracle stands magnetically amid the ruins of the abandoned village of Aghurmi in Siwa Oasis. The temple was built in the 6th century BC during the XXVI dynasty under the king Amasis. Its history is well recorded, but it’s fame draws largely from two important historical events: the tragic expedition of Cambyses army, who perished in the desert, and the visit of Alexander the Great in 331 BC. History speaks of Alexander the Great voyage to consult with the Oracle. It’s during this
visit that the great conqueror sought to confirm himself as the son of Amun and legitimate Pharaoh of Egypt.
3.
The Temple of Umm Ubayda
The temple of Umm Ubayda is situated amidst a grove of trees, a short distance from the rock of Agurmi and Cleopattra spring. This temple is the leser known of Siwa temples dedicated to the ancient Egyptian god Amun, is said to have been joined to the Temple of the oracle by a passage and once forme an integral part of the rituals related to the oracle and the god.
4.
Cleopatra Spring (Ein Guba)
Siwa is host to a number of springs but the most famous to date is the Guba spring, better known to tourists as Cleopatra’s Bath. Common lore has that Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, took a dip here, despite the fact that there is not enough evidence to prove this.
The spring is surrounded completeky by palm trees, this famous warm spring is one in which travelers have been bathing in for millennia and today, Cliopatra’s Bath is one of Siwa most visited tourist attractions.

Abu Shuruf Spring

Just before entering the village of abu Shuruf there is a spring with the same name, one of the largest natural pools in the oasis. Situated about 30 km east of Siwa town, this is the cleanest spring water.

Al Zeitona village and spring
The ruins of Al-Zeitoun village can be found a few kilometers after Abu Shuruf, adjacent to the small Bedouin village of Ein Safi. Al-Zeitoun had been built completely in Karsheef in the 19th century by anussi Tribe to host the workers attending their lush gardens nearby. The village includes the remains of mosque and of a circular olive press. Alzeitoun was inhabited until 1970s by workers attending the nearby gardens but then definitely abandoned when the agriculture activities in the area decreased.

Ein Safi village
Situated 2 km east of Zeitoun village , the last of the villages of Siwa oasis along the road that,after 400 Km of the desert, reaches Baheyrya oasis.
Ein Safi is small Bedouin settlement of about 200 people, that still maintain its Bedouin culture and customs such as the traditional production of Kilim carpets and the
breeding of camel that is unknown to berber Siwan customs
It’s worth visiting the village to watch the skilled Bedouin woman weaving the bright colored kilims using the traditional ground looms. .
8.
Safi Spring (Ein Safi)
This water spring, like the 200 water springs around siwa, is the source of fresh water upon which the entire Siwa agricultural and farming life relies. The Ein safi has an abundance of water that nourishes the surrounding palm trees and vegetation.
9.
Loubaq
Loubaq is a low area in the middle of sand dunes south-east of Siwa formed by several green patches of wild palms that can grow there thanks to a shallow water table just under the sand.

Day 4: (sightseeing tour around the desert of Siwa oasis; Total distance traveled 75 Km):

Bir Wahed-Hot Spring
Among the most beautiful spots to visit is
Sea Stara fossile of a sea star one of thousand you can find.
Bir Wahed, a hot spring situated 12 km from the town of Siwa. This bubbling hot spring is beautifully situated in a small oasis surrounded by sand dunes, inside the Great Sand Sea. The spring was drilled in the 60s by Russian expedition that was searching for oil but failed to find it. The temperature of the water in Bir Wahed is round 40C and has sulphuric and iron elements that make it one of the most visited sites by visitors to this region.
2.
Bir Wahed-Cold Lake
In the proximity of the Bir Wahed small oasis there is also a cold lake. In order to arrive at the lake visitors cross the sand dune near Bir Wahed, to find the lake surrounded by the sand. The water is cold and is said to be the excess from the hot spring of Bir Wahed that gathers on the sand surface to form this lake in the closest depression to Bir Wahed. The lake also offers clear water, an abundance of fish and the shade of palm tree wood shelter.
3.
Fossils
The Great sand Sea south of Siwa oasis is scattered with
fossils of several different types and shapes. In some depressed sites among the sand dunes few rests of petrified wood and fossil coral reefs can be found as well as fossil shells, whales, sea stars and sea urchins. All such ancient and precious remains are protected by the law and it is strictly forbidden to collect them.
4.
Siza Mountain
Siza Mountain is a rocky hill about 1 km past Bahey el Din the Bedouin village .
On the rocks at the top of the hill many ancient inscriptions and signs are visible, as well as many tracks of animals and also human footprints which, according to some studies, date back to prehistoric age.
All around the rocky hill it is full of marine fossils shells. The top of the hill is laso a good view point over the western border of iwa oasis.

Day 5: (Moving to Bahareya oasis; Total distance traveled 450 Km):
- 6:30 To 7:30 Break fast
-8:00 Moving east towards Baharya Oasis and crossing 7 military police stations in the way before arriving Bahareya about
16:30 noon Camping or Hotel as preferred.
The trip from Siwa to the Bahareya Oasis remains quite an adventure. Despite the difficult desert road on which visitors must travel, made in some parts of asphalt and in other parts of dirty and sandy track, there exotic scenes that include the Homaimat Mountain. This mountain is primarily made up of three peaks rising in the middle of exotic sand dune.
Several similar mountain peaks can be seen along the road.
Also on this road, visitor pass by smaller neighbouring oases,such as Arag,Bahrein,Sitra and Nuwemisa that are abandoned sites, but groups of un-inscribed rock-cut tombs suggest that the area was inhabited probably during Roman times. Along this road, visitors can also stop to examine the sites that abound with nummulites fossils from the remote past.
Day 6: (Sightseeing at Bahareya oasis then moving towards the White desert; Total distance traveled about 220 Km):
- 8:30 To 9:30 Breakfast.
-After breakfast we go 160-km on/off road to the black desert and the dune area, On route to Farafra we visit the crystal mountain, the area of the wonders with the desert roses and the arch. Moving on we
head to the White Desert, we start exploring the formations and wind carved sculptors that resemble both human and animal faces. We explore the formations that resemble the surface of a different planet. The night is spent in the desert, dinner and overnight camping.
Days 7, 8: (Farafra, Dakhla Oasis, Total distance traveled 70km)
Reaching Farafra oasis 40-km on road we visit the city, bathe in the hot spring, Visit the museum of Badr “the local artist”, then move on to Dakhla oasis 280-km. Upon reaching Dakhla, we visit the Old Covered City with its oil press, school, Courthouse and dwelling chambers, Muzzawaka (area) & Deir el Haggar, have lunch, dinner and overnight .
Days 9, 10, 11: (Dakhla Oasis, Kharga Oasis, , Total distance traveled 585km)
Leaving Dakhla behind, we head to Kharga 190-km, upon arrival we visit El Bagawat Cemetery, visit of temple of Hibis temple (external ) and the museum, have lunch. Dinner and overnight
Day 12: Kharga Oasis, Luxor or to Cairo
From Kharga we head to Baris oasis 90-km we visit the temple of Dush, picnic lunch and later on we head to Luxor 300-Km or to Cairo 700Km.
